Captivate 4 Training Checklist
As part of the support for the Captivate User Group, I was asked to create a training checklist. The checklist starts with the most simple tasks in Captivate and progresses through to more complex items, such as actions and variables. Each task has a link to demos or recorded meetings - some of the demos are Adobe tutorial demos. If desired, a manager could use the checklist to track professional development and skill competency.
Show Me Template - Captivate
The Show Me template was created in response to a need to include links to quick demos in Online Help for various applications. The Show Me demos have limited captions (used only to call out specific information or warnings that were not readily apparent), and provide a quick "click through" of a task in an application. The Show Me demos were published in one internal location, accessible by anyone with a login, but the links were included in Online Help, and the demos could be inserted into a regular course as well. The Show Me demos were used by Online Help developers to confirm the steps of a task, and the images could be exported to be used in Online Help as well.

Captivate User Group Site
The Captivate User Group site was built in SharePoint to support an internal Captivate User Group, which I managed and facilitated. The site includes links to documents, recorded monthly meetings, templates, design templates, and wikis for personas, assessments, lessons learned and best practices, design samples and a short wiki with a list of desired meeting topics.
Design Documentation - Excerpt
This sample contains an excerpt from a Design Document template. The section is part of the Instructional Strategy and focuses primarily on eLearning. Anyone completing the Design
Document for a project was able to edit this section, but the common strategies used at the time were all included as a starting point. eLearning Standards - Excerpt
This sample contains an excerpt from the eLearning Design Standards document. The section covers usability at a high level. In the full document, the following sections are included: Learner Support, Content, Instructional Design, Pre- and Post-Assessment, Navigation, Usability, Graphics, Media Quality, 508 Compliance, and Technology.
